The Hotel was clean and tidy. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The location was close to the town, but traffic is light in that area. The food was very good and plenty of selection. I will be going again this year.

Lovely wee place to stay. A friend and I were in town for a tournament last minute and needed a place to stay, The Pines was available and affordable so we booked. When we arrived the person at the front desk showed us to our room & helped carry my bag up, very thoughtful. The room was a good size, warm, & had a mini fridge which was great. The bed was very comfortable. If I'm back in the area in future I'll definitely stay again.

Staying for work. Older building but the room was comfy, clean & well presented. Staff member Taron stayed longer than necessary to check me in which I was very grateful for & made sure I was catered to. No complaints.

This was pretty much the cheapest stay I could find in the south of England. It isn't the nicest place ever but it definitely isn't the worst. If you're looking at this place then you're probably looking for a place where you'll crash at night, grab a morning shower and be out and about all day. This hotel ticks the boxes. It's baffling to see so many negative reviews for what is one of the cheapest places to stay. Yes it's quite small, for me it's cosy. The bathroom is not up to par with the Ritz and the beds are a little soft but who cares? You're warm and dry and in relative comfort. If you expect luxury at this price there is something wrong with you, those leaving bad reviews should go pay £300 a night at the Hilton and quit moaning. My room was around £40 and with that I got breakfast included and off street parking. Room even had a small fridge! Staff member was brilliant. Really friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again

Its like this. For the price I paid for two nights (£45) it was probably the best stay I ever had. If, however, I had to pay £20 more, I would be absolutely fuming. Not at the state of the hotel, theres nothing wrong with that. Decor may be a bit dated, however beds are comfy. Room was clean. Tea, mini fridge, mini tv and a power shower. All lovely. But. My room was at the top floor, right above the roof, which in this weekend heatwave was almost unbearable. And to open the window means no sleep at all, because the window is facing a motorway (ok its an a road but almost like a fu%&ing motorway, constant neverending stream of traffic at any time of day) so yeah. If you however get a room thats not right under the roof, and one which is facing the garden, for the right price, like I said the best stay ever. Oh and the parking; well lets not talk about that. Best to arrive by train.

Perfectly happy with my stay, the place is a little run down but for the price you can’t complain. Staff went above and beyond to be of help and the room was comfortable and cosy, very much enjoyed my two nights thank you.

Great service! The receptionist was very helpful and welcoming. The rooms were comfortable. Great value place to stay. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars, is because of the very narrow junction to car park where my car almost got stuck. The receptionist was helpful, though in helping with my car. The guests who stayed at this accommodation at the time were talking loudly into the early hours of the morning, which is not the hotels fault. Just a shame that the guests lacked consideration for other guests. This does not reflect on hotel however who were friendly and welcoming.
